Free Zones must prioritize sustainability, human talent and technological innovation

Evolution Free Zone participated in the Tenth Costa Rica Meeting (“X Encuentro Costa Rica”) in which opportunities for free zones were discussed.

Free Zones have become a driving force for social development and the generation of quality employment and foreign exchange; however, the current context, and the global demands and requirements, encourage us to take advantage of opportunities to continue generating benefits for the country.

Carlos Wong, Managing Director of CODE Development Group , explained that Free Trade Zones have a fundamental role for economic and social growth and development, so it is extremely important to prioritize their evolution, in order to align them with the trends and demands of the world market.

These three pillars will allow us to take advantage of opportunities in a changing environment, aiming to promote comprehensive and sustainable development and foster constant competitiveness that will lead to the success of our operations”, underscored Wong.

With respect to sustainability, Wong indicated that this is the priority approach to ensure the success of Free Trade Zones . The commitment and actions implemented in the social, environmental and economic areas must be complemented with the integration with the communities. In this way, the benefits will lead to better rates of development and social progress.
In terms of innovation and the incorporation of new technologies, these are essential aspects for measuring and analyzing the impact of operations, but also for implementing technological advances with the creation of intelligent and interconnected systems that facilitate the efficiency of supply chains.

Wong explained that Free Trade Zones are generators of quality employment and promoters of specialized human talent, which is why this hub will make it possible to meet the global demands that industries require.
