Tacares, Grecia, November 2024. In order to raise awareness and educate new generations about environmental care, students received lectures and workshops in seven schools in the canton of Grecia, geographical area of influence of the Evolution Free Zone.
These activities, organized by the new business park, in collaboration with various environmental organizations, local government and the support of local organizations, benefited 375 elementary school students.
During the sessions, the children participated in educational activities that included interactive games, exhibitions and the presentation of educational videos. The training allowed the students to learn in a playful and practical way about the importance of caring for natural resources and how to live respectfully with the wildlife of the region.
“These gatherings with our community represent an investment in the future of our children. We want them to become agents of change, not only to protect their environment, but also to foster a culture of respect and environmental responsibility from an early age”, said Luis Fernando Vargas, Sustainability Coordinator of the CODE Development Group.
The project was developed through collaboration between various local organizations and entities, including FUNDEMA, Primates de Grecia and ECOGRECIA, as well as the Municipality of Grecia, the Forest Reserve of Grecia and the Ministry of Health.
Donation of Ecological Points
As part of this initiative, Evolution Free Zone donated Ecological Points to each of the participating schools, which were installed to strengthen the process of integrated waste management in each school.
“This action seeks to promote recycling and the correct disposal of waste, and is part of a greater commitment to encourage sustainable practices in the educational community”, Vargas added.
